Explore the Levels of Change Management

Prosci Certification and Becoming a CCMP

Where were you in 2004? The answers among us will be wide reaching but perhaps we all had one thing in common: we were experiencing some sort of change (professional or personal) or we were leading others through change.

In 2004, Prosci started offering the Prosci Change Management Certification Program in an effort to increase success on change projects within organizations. It was an exciting time in the change management industry. People were beginning to become interested in change management and starting to realize the benefits that focusing on the people side of changes could have. The Certification Program itself was an opportunity for early adopters to be formally educated and recognized as change professionals.

As the industry of change management has taken large strides to become a recognized and respected discipline, Prosci’s Change Management Certification Program has become the industry-leading certification program with more than 100,000 people certified around the world.

The ACMP Certified Change Management Practitioner (CCMP)

In 2014, the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) released The Standard for Change Management, a body of work that provides a baseline understanding and definition of the discipline of change management.

Quickly thereafter, ACMP introduced the Certified Change Management Professional™ (CCMP™) accreditation, an opportunity for change management professionals to be accredited in change management by an independent professional association. In our long journey to help establish and advance the discipline of change management, we were thrilled to see this offering be made available to so many of the professionals we have met and supported over the years.

How to achieve the CCMP accreditation

To achieve the CCMP accreditation offered by ACMP, professionals need:

  • A four-year college degree
  • Three or more years of experience in change management
  • 21 hours of change management education
  • A passing score on the CCMP exam provided by ACMP

How Prosci Certification Helps You Achieve the CCMP Accreditation

As an organization dedicated to the success of change professionals, we applaud ACMP’s decision to create a change management practitioner accreditation that standardizes change management as a growing industry with a recognized and respected career path. We are committed to ensuring that each Prosci Certification graduate had the education and skills they need to pursue a CCMP.

Gain change management education hours

Prosci was one of the first organizations to become a Qualified Education Provider (QEP) for ACMP, meaning that the Prosci Change Management Certification Program aligns with the ACMP Standard for Change Management and adult education best practices. As a QEP, the Prosci Change Management Certification Program is approved for 23 Instructional Hours.

Gain the skills to immediately apply change management

In addition to the 23 hours toward the ACMP CCMP education requirement, the Prosci Change Management Certification Program gives you the knowledge, skills and tools to drive successful change initiatives. This three-day experiential learning program teaches you to apply a holistic change management methodology and toolset, including the Prosci ADKAR Model, to a real project. You will leave with a change management plan that leverages research-based best practices to effectively manage change and enhance project results.

An Exciting Time for Change Management

Today, change management opportunities are becoming available at a more rapid rate than ever before. The change management discipline is advancing and developing at a pace and in ways that should excite every change professional. Whether you are looking for professional accreditation, certification in the industry-leading methodology, or ways to advance your career beyond certification, lean into this time to be part of a growing discipline.
